A Typical Week: Wednesday

As I mentioned in my last post, Wednesday is much like Monday.  Only a few different comments for today, you can skim through it pretty quickly today!

Wednesday
Hump day*, and my classmates are sleepy.  And yes,
we have matching hoodies.  Why, is that weird?

*Photo actually taken on a Thursday field trip...
9:00am - 1:00pm Korean Language Class
Today it's Listening & Speaking followed by Writing & Grammar.
1:00pm - 2:30pm Lunch/Plan for Children's Center
2:45pm - 3:30pm Ride the Bus to Work
3:40pm - 4:50pm English class with Elementary Students at 새움 Children's Center
I'll go ahead and mention this time is probably the biggest source of stress for me.  There's a conflict of interest here where I'm interested in being with the kids and allowing them to learn English by just trying to communicate with me, but the center expects me to teach from a textbook.  This time is somewhat supervised by other Korean teachers, which gives me the someone's-staring-over-my-shoulder feeling.  But the kids are cute and funny, if hard to control.
5:00pm - 5:30pm Dinner
5:32pm - 5:50pm Music Practice/Lessons
5:55pm - 7:10pm Teach/Entertain the Middle School Students
This time is upstairs in the chapel room at my center, with just me and the kids.  I think the unsupervised/older kids combo makes me much more at ease during this time.
8:00pm - 12:00am Rest/Study/Do homework/Plan for tomorrow/Process the day

As I mentioned, this can be a stressful day.  But don't worry, be happy!  It can also be a great day, like my Wednesday today!  I had a meal with friends from language class at a great restaurant, 마미하우스 (Mommy House - how could it be bad?), my kids were great and a lot of fun today, and I remembered to post this blog!  (That last one was a near miss...)  It's been a great day!

I might be overdosing on "Eye of the Tiger" sometimes, but it helps.  Rowr.

Don't touch that dial, I'll be back with Thursday in just a few minutes!  (if "a few" ≈ 1,440)  Thanks for reading!
